fall back 1 hour

Do you feel like you need more sleep? Well. You’re in luck!

As summer winds down and chilly weather arrives, it’s time to get that guilt-free extra hour of sleep. Not sure what I’m talking about? I’m talking National Sleep In Day of course!

At 2 AM on Sunday, November 4th, 2018, the clocks go back an hour, daylight savings time comes to an end, and we get an extra hour of sleep.

How did this whole concept start? Benjamin Franklin came up with the idea as a way to conserve energy.

So, here are some tips to celebrate National Sleep In Day and make the most of that extra hour of sleep:

  1. SWITCH THE ALARM BEFORE YOU GO TO SLEEP.
This may seem like common sense, however, it’s our most important tip. You don’t want to show up an hour late to work or whatever your destination may be. So be sure your alarms are set for the correct time.

  2. ENJOY A HEALTHY AND BALANCED BREAKFAST
Let’s face it, sometimes we are so rushed in the morning and feel we never have time to sit at the kitchen table and enjoy a healthy and balanced breakfast. With the clocks back, take advantage of that extra hour and enjoy a leisurely breakfast.

  3. RISE AND GRIND
Always find it difficult to get to the gym in the morning? Well with an extra of sleep, now is your chance to start the day off right and exercise in the morning.

  4. READ THE BOOK
Haven’t had the time to dive into that book you’ve been wanting to read? Utilize that extra hour to escape and finally read that book.

  5. RELAX
Sometimes your body just needs to relax. So, lay in bed for that extra hour and watch some TV or put on some music.
